Cloves

Long before they found their way into spice markets and kitchen cabinets, cloves were among the most coveted treasures in the ancient world. Harvested from the Syzygium aromaticum tree on the Maluku Islands of Indonesia, these dried flower buds traveled ancient trade routes from Asia to Europe, commanding prices that rivaled gold. Their fiery, penetrating scent made them prized not just for flavor, but for their powerful spiritual properties.

In Hoodoo and rootwork, Clove Buds are a commanding and protective ally. Carried or burned, they are used to stop gossip and silence those who speak ill of you. Their heat and sharpness lend themselves to domination and compelling work, drawing people to your will and keeping enemies at bay. Cloves are also worked into money-drawing formulas and used to strengthen the power of any mojo or spell they accompany.

Add them to sachets, dress candles with them, brew them into spiritual washes, or burn them as incense to fill your space with their potent, warming energy.
